Hi guys.
When I was at my favorite B+M shop yesterday. I noticed a new coin in her display case. It was the
"Christa McAuliffe" bullion coin. What a marvelous tribute! She was the epitome of all woman, Americans, as well as, for all school teachers in our great country. The Mint got it right by going through with this commendation for her and her family. Thank you U.S. Mint and thank you, Christa. <3
Here's to you, for my 9000th Post.
Can you post any coin with a woman on the Obverse? Thanks guys.

"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!

It hard to believe that she died more than 35 years ago (January 1986).

She was a very attractive woman, and intelligence too! Its nice to see a coin that honors her in both ways! As personally I have not seen much from the US mint that actually captures a likeness, or the persons abilities. Great post here's to 9000 more post! Cheers Paddy

  • Is the McAuliffe coin bullion?

I thought a more technically appropriate referent would be NCLT ['ONE DOLLAR' on reverse]?

Or isn't it a commemorative coin?

    What do you call it?

    This coin is cool.

Great American women quarters coming up.

I'll post those in the future.

Yup, and I can recall where I was when I heard (the office) and who announced the news to everyone.

I was at the Roma Cafe near downtown Detroit having a business lunch when the waiter came up to us and told us what had happened.
