That is one cool 1943 Cent! The zinc transfer from the dies really gives it a very unique look.

The zinc comes from the dies striking tens of thousands of zinc plated planchets before striking this bronze one!

I've never heard that before. Reference of some sort? Phenomenon observed in a non-coin context?
I think @Sonorandesertrat is a metallurgist. He might know. I've owned a couple of copper circs and an unc-ish steel '44 so I sorta keep an eye out for these.
