Looking for some insight into Buffalo 2 Feathers Varieties

I’m reposting this from the Q&A forum on advise from another member, thanks!
Decided to take a look for this type of variety among my no dates just for fun and wanted some input on those
that I found. I do have my own opinion after researching but wanted to further my knowledge with your help!

Looks like #4 an #6 might be. The rest? No.
The third feather must be completely missing to qualify. Many that are advertised as such are 2 1/2 feathers, even slabbed ones.
Is this only considered a 2 feather variety when the die leaves no indication of a 3rd feather? Or is a slight impression of a feather still acceptable, I wonder?

It should be completely effaced IMO. There are 20 such dates in the series-
TRUE 2F VAR # DATE/MINT
01 1913-D VAR 1
02 1913-S VAR 1 Difficult to find
03 1915
04 1915-D Very difficult to find
05 1916 Maybe the most common
06 1916-S Difficult to find
07 1917
08 1917-S
09 1918
10 1918-S
11 1919
12 1920
13 1920-S
14 1921 One of the most common
15 1921-S
16 1923 Might be the most difficult to find
17 1925-S Several dies-common
18 1926-D Difficult to find
19 1929-S
20 1930-S
Some 2 1/2 feather varieties have been slabbed as 2 feathers. If I were collecting them I'd stick with the 20 listed above.
That list does whittle down most of the others I’ve read about, including Ron Pope’s, whom I mostly referenced while researching these. I did come across the term “2 1/2 feathers” often and find it interesting that somewhere along the way these became acceptable as 2 feathers. That gray area of qualifying stuff into categories we humans enjoy doing....

HalfDimeDude , I have the same passion about Buffalo nickels you expressed in another post, although I had not used them as pocket change, I did see them in my international travels. That would just reinforce how awesome the series is for me.
