Anybody here ever play.....or know.....

Question; Has anyone here on the forum ever played in the NFL, MLB, etc.? Or, do you have family members who have? Children? Or even friends? I'm curious.

A neighbor, when I was growing up. Played several seasons for, I want to say the Cowboys, then used his earnings to pay for law school. He was a successful lawyer when I knew him.
A professional colleague's son, played division 1a in college and was drafted by the NFL - I don't remember the team, and I don't believe he made the cut.
Why?
One guy was a punter in the 80's. Think he lasted one year and said he was beat to pieces. He runs a construction company and has done well for himself.
My wife had famous QB from the 70's as a client. Another guy beat to pieces.

Hey, boys and girls....MY SCREW UP!!!! Wrong forum! Oh....GAWD!!

I want the MONEY!
I meant to post this thread on the Sports Forum. My screwup. But.....go check out the Sports Forum. It's pretty humorous over there. You might like it!
I know you said you put this in the wrong place, but ...
Second cousin kicked in the NFL for (?) 12 years. NCAA Consensus All-American at the University of Washington, where I think he is still the all-time scoring leader. We've lost track over the years, unfortunately, but a really good guy, and also a heck of a golfer as I remember.
I've had a few friends and family play in the NCAA, but Jeff was the most successful in the family by far.
“We are only their care-takers,” he posed, “if we take good care of them, then centuries from now they may still be here … ”

Went to school with a guy who played football at Tulsa and was a 7th rd pick and played for 5 or so years.
I was in a wedding with Bryant “Big Country” Reeves out of Oklahoma State. First ever pick by the Vancouver (now Memphis) Grizzlies.
My best story: I went to basketball camp with 3 brothers (Woods family. Loved those guys) who all ended up playing football at Ok State. The oldest ended up being a first rd pick for the 49ers. He was 2yrs older than me. I got lucky with an uncalled banked corner 3 and beat him in the camp’s 1-on-1 tournament one year.
Also, I played some pick up basketball with Malcolm Brown who was the 1st rd pick of the Patriots a few years ago (now a Jag). Super nice kid (HS senior at the time) Met him a few times when he was visiting a tiny town in NM where we used to go to church.
..... etc.
My son's neighbor "played" a lot of roles in movies. Before becoming an actor he actually was a professional baseball player. He signed a Bonus Contract with the Boston Braves and while in Florida at Spring Training with the Washington Senators he was discovered and got his opportunity to get into acting. (We forget that sites in New York and Florida were actually the predecessors to today's Hollywood.)
Pictured is the son checking out his neighbor's sidewalk star in Palm Springs in a photo I took earlier this year:
He was in 30 films and 150 TV Shows. This, an excerpt from his IMDb bio:
" In Jan. 2016, Michael Dante was sworn in as an honorary Arizona Ranger. There are only two honorary Arizona Rangers in the state of Arizona; Michael Dante and George W. Bush. Michael Dante has a star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in Palm Springs, California and has become a 'legend' in his field through his westerns, dramas and as 'Maab' on the original series, Star Trek. I knew Tom Dublinski he played for the Detroit Lions, New York Giants & Denver Broncos.
...I see no problem with it here in the US coins forum...I mean threads get started asking what age we all are. It seems more interesting to have a former or current pro-athlete collect coins, talking about their hobby, then blab about his/her job in a sports forum lol
Wasn’t Greg Bingham (member here ) a football player for the Oilers?

Ron Jaworski QB is my cousin. My dad would fix their TV for free whenever it broke they had no money. His dad passed away when Ron was young and they played catch all the time. His mom went to my wedding and sat down with my wife cousins, 3 boys in 1981. They started to talk and Molly said "my son is Ron Jaworski" the boys laughed and made her show them her drivers license as proof of who she was..... Molly made sure Ron sent them autographed pictures, the kids loved it... These guys were great sports fans. Ron took care of his mom who never had anything. To bad his dad never seen the accomplishments of his son..
Ron is a really nice guy. In college I bartended in the Eagles Fly For Leukemia/Maxwell Awards post reception suite. He and Desmond Howard and Walter Payton as well as coach Walsh were all really really cool. Also, my uncle played for the New Jersey Generals (remember the USFL) and I knew Sam mills (New Orleans saints ) through my Uncle
