Anybody want some sandpaper?

RayboRaybo Posts: 5,342 ✭✭✭✭✭

Going through some of the threads and came across one concerning scratches on slabs. I happened to remember that I purchased some fine grit sandpaper several years ago and never tried it out. What I'm looking for is for a few members to try it out because I'm to lazy.
The sandpaper is 3000,5000 and 7000 grit, the kind aircraft people use on their windscreens, obviously if your slabs have deep scratches you will need to go to your local hardware store and pick-up some 1000 or maybe even 500 grit paper to start with.
Just post one time and I will select 2 members who will receive 1/2 sheet each of 3000, 5000 and 7000 paper (each sheet is actually 9"X11" and I will cut them in half)
BTW: The sandpaper is manufactured in Germany if that matters.

If you use fine sandpaper you’ll still need some polish like Meguires or Novus to get the slabs crystal-clear again. It works great on deep scratches & gouges though.

    Cool giveaway. :)

Now that is interesting.... Never saw sandpaper that fine...and I would think some polish would be necessary to complete the job. Certainly worth an experiment. Cheers, RickO
