Anyone collect these?

I must have picked it up on a visit to the site depicted, but other than that don't know if there are similar pieces from other places, including in the US, that would be collectible in the same way that elongated coins are collected from various locations of interest.

I come across them all the time in estate collections. Some are kind of cheap looking. Others are really very artistic. I have no idea how many 1000s of different types exist.

The Leprechaun Museum in Dublin, Ireland, has a vending machine that sells similar medals. Not sure where mine got off to, but will post pictures if I can track it down.

There is, or was twenty years ago, a small selection at the St. Gaudens National Historic Site.

These seem to be taking over or at least supplementing elongated cents as souvenirs at major tourist sites.

Yours is from the castle on which the Disney castle is patterned.

For years I collected pictures of the Neuschwanstein castle.... always intrigued me. Would be great to explore. Never saw a token and do not know where my picture collection is... probably gone now. Thanks for showing the token. Cheers, RickO

elongated coins or tokens seem to be of much interest as 2x2's are being made for them.
I have recently seen an album. I think it might have been Leuchtturm, not sure.

Today is the first day of the rest of my life

About the same interest level as modern elongated coins ... very little. Essentially they are tourist junk.

2014 trip with my son to Germany for 3 day (and night) heavy metal concert at SummerBreeze festival. Went here afterwards. Was an amazing trip.

I was there. Great to see it, but as I recall the most impressive part was the outside. It is not as old as it might appear.

A cool feature inside the Castle is "The Grotto." Some of the main halls were never finished due to the questioned drowning of the King in the nearby lake.

Yesterday's tourist junk becomes tomorrow's treasures.
