I haven't done one of these for a few months. Here's a nice trio from the 19th century. Copper, silver, and gold. Again, all three of these coins are in PCGS plastic, all of them in some version of the blue-label holder. At least one has a CAC sticker and at least one doesn't. That's the only clue you get. 
These are my photos, and the photo technique is reasonably consistent.
Guess the assigned grades assigned by our host.

I like the color on both the three cent and dollar. I have my doubts as to the 1814- I would like to be wrong on that one

I see some of your collections are marked retired, including your Peace dollar set (which is incredible by the way). Does that mean you enjoyed the collection process, then had the self discipline to move them on (through sale) to another collector so they can enjoy them?
If so, very admirable.
I really need to do that with some of mine so my wife and heirs don't end up hating me.

I really like the look of the 3 cent- I would have graded it higher, but there was a rim nick at or near the F (OF).
The color on the dollar is very attractive and I should have called that 3 based on the appeal alone... surfaces can be tricky and my opinion was overly cautious
As for the 1814... I think I was just not persuaded by the image... it did not have the same impact as the other two images. It still is a terrific coin and I suspect it looks better in hand

Aargh I missed on that 3-cent big time. Did not give it enough on originality, nice piece.
Arright, so here's the scoop:
This coin I think is pretty cool. The classic head cent, oddly enough, is a much tougher type coin than you would think. I think this coin straddles the VF/XF divide. There is a slight bit of mint luster in protected areas, and the detail is really pretty good. The official PCGS guide says this about VF35 "Light wear is seen over entire surface, though all major detail still visible" and this about XF40 "All design elements still show, but high points now worn flat. Little to no luster remains." This one has just a few little hits, no horrible distractions, nice color, a solid planchet, and pretty nice detail. Weakness of the rim dentils is seen on opposing sides. I got this off the BST here, IIRC.
This little coin is probably better than it looks in my photo. Yes, it has a rim gouge near "OF" on the obverse. Luster is a little better than I've been able to show. I really like it as a type coin because it has that little something extra -- an "O" mint-mark, the only branch-mint issue of the entire series. Sometimes it's fun to include something a bit different when doing a type set. I bought this one from a dealer at a PGCS invitational. As for the grade, absent the rim nick it's an easy MS65. With the rim nick...... I think it's still a 65, PCGS and JA either agree or they missed it, but I fully understand not everyone would be forgiving of that. In my book, a 65 can have an issue, somewhere, but not two. The little fly specks are virtually universal on these coins for some reason, and as far as I can divine, graders mostly ignore them, if small. Here's the TrueView for comparison:
This coin, I really like. It has oodles of patina and really nice luster. In-hand, it's just a miniature jewel, and lots of fun.
Considering where I found it, there's actually a small possibility CAC hasn't ever seen it. More likely they have, but I don't care. I like it either way. Strike is better than average, it doesn't have clash marks, and the coin is quite free of distractions. The biggest issue I can see are some light abrasions on the portrait. You really need a loupe to see them (or virtually anything else on a coin this size) and they almost look like adjustment marks, but I don't think this was still happening in 1855.
All in all people were a bit high on the 1814 cent, low on the 3-cent, and pretty close on the gold dollar. Thanks for playing.
Wow, I blew it on the 3 cent but was close enough on the first and right on (except for the CAC) on the third.
