I was watching this one all week. My hopes of adding it to my collection of lowball 1964 Kennedys were quickly smashed. It's not even a PO1, for crying out loud!

    That’s a really interesting looking coin. The date is essentially gone but the rim is still defined.

    Interesting coin, though the P01 sold by Heritage for $ 960 last fall does seem more attractive!

    I bought this one for $3 a week ago. They are cool but I prefer to make my own unless I can get them close to face/spot.

    By make your own, do you mean wearing it down or getting it slabbed?

    While I cannot understand the attraction of these super worn coins, I am glad that there is a segment of collectors that like these. Collect what you like and like what you collect. Cheers, RickO

    I currently have a '74 half, '78 ike, 2007 ASE, and 1999 SBA as my pocket pieces. I have lost a couple of coins over the years but in the future I hope to get a full set of PO01 type and maybe silver eagles.

    Crazy price, but a very cool piece. I love certified lowballs, but prefer early copper, and gold.

    Agreed, you can always wear a coin down more, but you cannot put detail back on a coin. There is a home for everything.
