I found a nice Tidy House Morgan last week...

I've had a few of these over the years. This one seems nicer than average. 1881-S with ample luster still, clean cheek and fields both front & back.
Feel free to post yours.

Great looking coin. However, it is dated 1880-S.
Here is mine😎
What year(s) were these being distributed? I do not recall this program.... Of course I may have been living out of the country at the time...They mention the advent of clad coinage....So not ancient history. Cheers, RickO
Nice example.
Typical Tidy House toning.
Great historic Americana there.
Thanks for sharing.
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Love the color. Need to make room in my collection for one of these.
Really nice looking coin. History from 2 eras as well.
It would appear Tidy House had a 30-day window during which these were available ending July 31, 1966 (and then apparently to August 31, 1966).
Early to mid 60's. Tidy House Soaps was owned by Bob Osterholm ( a friend gone by, from Council Bluffs, Iowa.). He passed away in 2011.
He used silver to promote soap.
He hired girls to insert the coins into cardboard holders & mailers and they were distributed by mail order.
He sold Tidy House Soap Co. to the Arm & Hammer company in 1969. He was a stamp and coin collector but had several business up until his death. His son runs a fine jewelry store called 14k now.
At the time I last spoke to Bob in 2010 , he told me he was able to get $1000 mint sewn bags for $1100 from dealers. One of his biggest regrets ( he said) , was having a chemist ( in California) fix one particular bag of Morgans which were rainbow toned.
Because (I suppose) if you're selling soap, you don't want coins you're promoting to have tarnish.
Long story short, these have become relatively popular. Aside from Morgan $s ( mostly O mint ) , He also used 1964 Kennedy Halves.
I had him autograph a couple of these cards for me. Pictures may follow.
His obit. FYI.

Hey @davewesen!
What's up with the holders and no coins? Did you pop them out or collecting everything related to the promotion?
