The 2nd most common pre-WWI coin after the 1908-NM
Also known for being very salty looking.
I've seen coins in that condition go anywhere from 64-66 so i'm going to shoot for a 65
Nice rim & fields. A little rub on the knee, breasts & near wing but not quite enough for AU.
Very slight collar bounce on the reverse.
Nice coin

It’s all of a 65 if not a 66

Nice gold Double Eagle.... This was purchased raw? Looks as if it is in a flip with some marks on the mylar. I would say 65...Cheers, RickO
My first instinct is 65.

65, looks about right.

65, and gorgeous piece!
Not raw, it's in an older NGC holder.
I'll say 65 as well. I have a 1910-D in MS64 and this one looks a little better.
@scotty4449.... Thanks for the response... Great pictures, I did not detect the slab at all.... Cheers, RickO
65, but graded a 64 ??

The coin has a very nice overall look, but the knee and breast areas look rubby enough for me to guess MS64.

You all are good, most nailed it! I love the clean fields and rich toning of this coin. It does have some rub in the high points though. Wonder if it would CAC?
Sweet pickup, I love double eagles, got my first as well a few months ago. Yours is much nicer.

OP, that is an amazing purchase and I see what one of the other posters was referring to when they noted a "salty" appearance. I definitely think it is CAC worthy. I hope you got it for a great price!
