1978 Lincoln Cent under weight

Hello everyone. Just curious if anyone has come across a 1978 Lincoln Cent weighing in at 2.86 grams? I calibrated my scale and don’t see much as far as wear on the coin surfaces. Anyone have any clues? Thank you for taking a look.

It may just be a bit underweight is all. Perhaps the roll from which the planchets were cut was just a bit thin.

    Yup, it's a light one.

3.11 is normal but 2.86 is out of bounds

Planchet punched from rolled thin stock.

Likely thin stock and mentioned above... Good keeper for your anomaly collection. Cheers, RickO
