Appears to be a clad error. But I can't seem to find any 1985 D's out there with clad errors. Does anyone have any additional information this year D mint coin and clad errors?

Other than the discoloration which looks like a stain, what particularly is notable about the quarter?
Heading to work right now. Will respond to questions if any as I am able.
I see nothing but some environmental damage
Backsides definitely a step down around the edges of the missing clad.. Front side debatable. No step down.
I see:
1) you holding the coin wrong (only hold by the edges)
2) an environmentally damaged quarter. The edge looks fine, the obverse looks dirty, and the reverse looks stained (if a portion of the clad layer had peeled off the planchet, the rim would be copper colored as well.
That's how I see it anyway.
if it were missing the clad layer then there is beyond a Powerball winning luck that the curved eagle's wing -- shown in red - is clad colored. Even more ditto that the entire rim is clad colored.
