It’s only 14 weeks until the Long Beach Show (June 17-19)

I’m hoping it’s a go. Not likely, I suppose, but hope springs eternal.

Love that show. I found a couple great breweries within walking distance of the Convention Center the last time I went. I need to get out of town for some beer/coin action. Going slightly crazy up here in the NW.

Stay safe -
Dave

Always looking for original, better date VF20-VF35 Barber quarters and halves, and a quality beer.

Right on Dave, sounds fun. Glad to hear its going to happen. Those who are still worried can elect to stay home and those aren't can go. The way it should be. Have fun!

Where did you hear it was “going to happen”? He said “I’m hoping it’s a go. Not likely, I suppose, but hope springs eternal”.

Shows should start to open up soon... as I have mentioned here frequently, gun shows are going all the time here... I have been to three this year and another coming up shortly. All precautions are taken (though social distancing is not effective on the show floor). I did see some coins at the last one, but they were Ikes... Cheers, RickO

Dude I bet you September in Long Beach is going to be cancelled. June in Long Beach is not going to happen, if it happens I will be shocked. Long beach is in the second most restrictive county in the most restrictive state in the union. LA County has not had legal indoor dining since June and for only 2 weeks total since last March. If Long Beach happens in February 2022, I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Only 9 weeks until the Denver Coin Expo May 6-8 and it is still a go.

I just got my invite to the Front Range Coin Club 2021 Spring Coin Show in Loveland...It's on the same days (March 21) that us 50 and over qualify for the vaccine here in Colorado, I'm genuinely excited about that and if I get the vaccination sooner I may actually pay the show a visit!
Loveland is about an hour from Denver...25 minutes on my motorcycle! I'm kidding I'm kidding, I won't risk any of your lives that way either!

For me it's still waaaay too soon! I'm having a heck of a time with no fun Covid long hauler issues 2 months later. The thought of catching it a 2nd time is utterly terrifying. I'm guessing the Denver Coin Expo will be a no go or just very limited on maximum capacity based on how wonderfully diligent the Denver area has been during all this.

The National Western Complex is absolutely enormous so there would be plenty of room for actual real life distancing...I'm feeling really proud of how respectful Denverites have been to one another in general throughout this. We love our Colorado activities and protecting each other! ...Mostly!

Colorado is now tearing it up with the vaccinations so by the time the Denver Coin Expo is here we will truly be mostly vaccinated. We are currently approaching 25% of the whole state vaccinated and we're at almost 80% already in Denver for the 65 and over age group!

    No plans until 2022.

About the only way I get there from the East Coast is by RV.

Guess it would make a heck of a road trip.

Buy at small shows and B&M's along the way... flipping on Ebay for gas money.

Wasn't there a dealer and his wife that traveled in an RV and gave show reports?

    Actually sounds pretty doable... lol

California to allow MLB and theme parks to reopen April 1st

Friday’s announcement only pertains to outdoor activities. Attendance for indoor events, including NBA games and concerts, are still prohibited. Coming up with rules for indoor events is “much more difficult,” said Dee Dee Myers, senior advisor to the governor and director of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development.

“We will continue to work on that we’ll come back over the next couple of weeks and try to update this so that we can provide more visibility and a path forward for more businesses," Myers said.

There’s very little chance this show will take place. California is the only state that doesn’t allow indoor dining and gyms are still closed so I doubt a show in Los Angeles County in 3 months will occur. My remarks are not meant to condemn or endorse California Covid policy.

Erm, I've seen people eating pizza indoors in San Mateo county; we were on the patio. SF is also opening up soon.

I've seen the governor eating indoors. I'm sure lots of other people have, too.

I don't think we will see coin shows till spring/summer of 2022. That is if all goes well and no new deadlier strain (s) pops up. Wish it was not the case. But at least we have online shopping imagine this back in the 1990's or earlier.

That would be great if they actually had the Long Beach show in June. I’m living about 25 minutes away from there and would love to go. But I don’t think they will be able to have it quite yet. But probably the one after that. Many places here are actually open even though they aren’t supposed to be. It’s not really enforced, but they wouldn’t be able to get away with a coin show because they wouldn’t be allowed to advertise it. Everything is like a speak easy here and has been that way the whole time.

And this is exactly why I'm not in any hurry to go to any large gatherings in California. It's also one of the reasons our Covid numbers suck more then most.

As much as I love this hobby I'll still consider coins shows till 2022 nonessential outings.

Even then I might show up dressed like this...

Not sure where you are looking, but coin shows are happening.

Small shows are taking place but maybe we’ll have our first big show in Florida with decent attendance after people get vaccinated. I don’t know. I’m vaccinated and the idea of going to a crowded show doesn’t exactly excite me right now. I might feel differently in a few months.

Sooner or later, once the local governments and venues are on-board, some courageous folks running a big convention will decide to go for it, and it will go just fine. Once that happens, others will follow.

I sincerely doubt it will happen in Cali, for reasons already stated.

If the vaccine rollout goes well and the virus gets at least controlled, we might see some of the larger late summer or fall shows. My daughters are seeing things get better firsthand where the vaccinations are ramping up, even among the more fragile patients. They've seen a huge difference now vs. just a month ago. I think we just have to be patient.

But we can't be like TX (where I live). We did the equivalent of saying a popular stretch of sand is free of fire ants, while skipping the check for colonies under the sand.

Do the PCGS members show this month in Vegas. Quick and easy...look at some Stacks coins should be fun.

Not sure where you are looking, but coin shows are happening.

For what I collect, local VFW-hall type shows are a total waste of time. I need the major shows - like ANA or FUN - to have a good chance of finding something.
