(MS65)
As this series hits the century mark, I'm beginning to gain an even greater appreciation for Peace dollars as I view dealer inventories and I find myself gravitating towards coins with skin, color and personality. That being said, some of the fully lustrous, blast white dollars are truly amazing in their own right.
I picked this one up a day or two ago and it should arrive soon. I concealed the cert number to reduce the temptation of peeking so feel free to guess the grade...

Always looking for attractive rim toned Morgan and Peace dollars in PCGS or (older) ANA/ANACS holders!

It looks like a very nice MS65 to me. That kind of brown peripheral toning is what I like to see for Peace dollars, looks perfectly natural and accents the design quite well

High points look really nice, 66. Peace Roy

65, depending on the nature of the dark mark by the “Y” in LIBERTY.
Nice!
I'll go 65.
Looks 65 to me, but that toning could be hiding some sins

Very nice
I like it at 65
No guess on grade, but I really like it.
Thank you for the insight. Coming from Morgans, I'm very used to flashy rim toning, bag toning and monster rainbows. Peace dollars seem to possess a different breed of color, probably from the preparation of the silver used in minting, though I'm sure someone more versed in that process could explain it better.

As far as I know 21 Morgans and 21 Peace dollars were struck from the same planchets, yet they tone entirely differently. I’d love more information on this too. Some of it is differences in storage conditions, bug even white coins placed side-by-side in the same album will tone differently.
That's a gorgeous example! Everything is going for it great strike, nice color, seems to have good luster... without that mark by the Y in Liberty this one would be 66 but I think that one holds it back. So I see it as a super nice 65 maybe it even got a 65+.
Very nice! I'll guess 65.
64, but a nice 64.
I cannot grade Peace dollars. Period.
I'm all the way from 64 to 66 and everything in between. ( 64, 64+, 65, 65+, 66)
Sorry, best I can do from here looking at the pic on my monitor.
This is one of the nicest Peace dollars I can remember ever seeing, and it has such a great look. I’ll guess 66 but would be happy to own it at any grade given that eye appeal. Fantastic pickup.
Superb collections are built more by omission than by addition.
I like it, now let's see if @ricko does?
I'll say 65, unless that mark below the Y is a gouge. Then it's a whole new ball game, 63+ or 64.
Probably 65. That's saying a lot for a Denver coin during that period.
Did you notice that all Peace Dollars in 1926 have GOD engraved deeper?
Pete
It look a little better than a 65 to me, Maybe 66?
Very nice looking Peace.
I’m going with 64+
(Edited to add: I’d go 65 to 66+ if it weren’t for the uncertainty of that line below the Y.
The surfaces, aside from that, appear super clean.)

Agree. If the black streak is a grease mark, I think it could still go MS65. MS66 is such a prohibitive grade for the 26-D I can't imagine casually purchasing one. It has the strike and texture of an MS66, so I suppose you got lucky and purchased this as an MS65 or are outstandingly fortunate and got it for MS64 money!
I believe 65 would suit this coin.
Very nice Peace Dollar.

That's a great coin. Box of Twenty material, for sure.
Real nice coin!
Gorgeous Peace Dollar! Love it's frosty look and attractive toning. Totally deserving of it's gem status.

Excellent!
That suspect area looks much less ominous in the whole slab view.
There was some question that it may have even been a gouge, or terminal toning in the earlier photo- from my view anyways.
Really NICE coin!

I was going to say MS 64 with all that ugly toning, but the in the slabbed picture it doesn't show up as bad!
Beautiful Trueview. I think the toning is outststanding!
That's great. I too am glad that thing on the obv was a minor effect. Nice! Peace Roy
