I have, but probably been close to a decade ago... and I had to use first class postage because they didnt have stamps with the postcard rate available.

As to the subject matter it appears that coin press is now in a different location in the Nevada State Museum.
The post card photo suggests a point in time before it was put back in use as it is now,
Post cards are indeed still used.... I get one or two a year... beyond advertisements that is... They are frequent. Cheers, RickO
I've posted the before, but seeing as how the OP references "the Carson City Branch Mint"...
Incorrect in saying that it was made in the Virginia and Truckee Railroad shops. It was not made there. It was, however, repaired there when it broke. Yes, in the location prior to being moved into the room in the distance. Pre modern coin minting with it.

Every month. Have found a great many of the early 1900's going through the family estates. Lot of family history there if you take the time to look. Kids think it is neat to see grandma 's or great grandma's handwriting from a hundred years ago or more.
WWll era cards really can tell a story of day to day living back then.
I have a lot of fun sending my five-year-old great nephew postcards. I hope he has fun getting him, I’m not sure!
Whenever my family travels we typically send a postcard to our house as a little memento of our trip. My wife has done this most of her life.
I'm a big fan of post cards. It's nice to see the handwriting and put it on the fridge!
Post cards were so big a century ago that there was even a post card exposition in 1899!
Here are a couple - both are embossed in 3D (makes it a little difficult for writing a message, but worth the inconvenience):
Love those embossed post cards!

I like to buy old post cards from military forts to go alongside the tokens I collect. Bonus if a soldier sent one home with a little sentiment.

"Coin collecting for outcasts..."
This one has been hanging around my collection for over a decade. It has a collector’s want list on the back.

I haven't traveled much outside of the Midwest, once to Florida but in passing among fellow collectors if they mentioned their desire to attend a coin show, one would say, 'send me a post card. And of course, I would get them. Not a lot of them, a half dozen or so..........maybe I wasn't so popular.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!

Postcards are still selling!! Not as fast as they used to though. I blame that on phones that take beautiful photos and the ability to text your shot immediately to anywhere you like. I own a postcard business and find sales diminishing yearly. And postage for a postcard is currently at .36 cents now. Here are some of my cards, including a sand dollar I found on the beach- which is very rare for around here!!!
