These are getting tougher and tougher to find. And when they do sell, they seem to wind up in strong hands. I almost bid but wasn't sure that I liked the surfaces, even though it had a CAC sticker. Hammered for $462 and change.

I did bid but was not a fan of the spots so my bid was not a factor. Do want to find one but not willing to pay a big premium and certainly not for what I think is a so-so coin.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
I can't get past the spots on the obverse. The holder and sticker do not make up for those, IMHO.
Agreed, and it will remain entombed in this holder for eternity says I
Hmmmmm. I like cool holders, but only if the coin is all there.
Poor lil coin.
Baffled. It’s about a $65 coin in 64. Don’t like the obverse spots - ughh! C coin 4sure.
That deep, long cut on the upper right facing field is also a distraction.

Definitely would pass because of the spots...
Not a coin I would consider... and I really like WLH's.... as far as the holder - I do not even think about holders, meaningless to me. Cheers, RickO
How much would that coin be worth if it were raw?

Interesting holder, but a crazy price.

Agree with you all - not sure why it has a sticker ......
About 40 or 50 bucks.

Devil’s advocate here but the coin looks original and probably looks better in hand.
As far as the hammer that’s another story.
There are always a few on ebay. Way too pricey for me. I'd rather buy a Quarter Eagle in any grade for that money.

I don’t think it will look much better in hand. Also, the spots do bother me as well as that deep gash.
I want one, just to say that I have one and because they’re cool, but one only. It’s not the kind of thing I would waste my money on more than once, because I agree that gold is much better than rare plastic. I just don’t like this particular coin. When I get one; I want the coin to be nice.

@NotSure the York you show looks to be a 2.1 holder not a 2.0

Sold a similar one last week for a small premium: https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/0NUAAOSwpqFgNooL/s-l1600.jpg
@logger7 the one you linked is an NGC gen 3 holder, pretty common and not too difficult to find yet.

I just sent this one to CAC.

Because of who submitted it!
Since when can a 64 have a big gash on the obverse? That one’s a turd in a tuxedo
