I think the 2nd one is the higher grade one, just based on the strike straight up the middle of Liberty and on eagles chest feathers

Are they the same date/mint? Pic 2 is horrible to evaluate, but I’d say pic 2 has the better strike and eye appeal (?) for the 67.

With those photos, it would definitely be a guess.
As photographed I think the second one has flat spots on the feathers and Liberty. Both pictures are of poor quality, especially with the type of toning the coins have, and there’s no easy way to tell what surfaces are muted versus just poorly lit. I think the top one is the higher grade, but I don’t like each as photographed, and certainly wouldn’t buy either based on those photographs.

I think the first one is a 62, but if they looked like the photos, I wouldn't want either of them.
The unattractive toning on both make it a bit tough to see the defects. However the strike on the 43s is very weak. It also has some chatter in the fields on reverse and on the sun obverse. It warrants the 62.
Not sure the 2nd one is 17 d reverse? Pic is not good. So I'll take your word on a 67. Not my cup of tea

The top one looks like it was wiped with a Brillo pad under the toning. It’s also extremely ugly. Why do I have a feeling it’s the opposite of what I think?
2nd one looks like 1947 mint set toning.
I like the 2nd coin.
My guess is that the top coin is the MS62 and the bottom coin MS67. The top coin appears to have myriad hairlines across the fields while the bottom may have attractive toning.

Well now I've had a chance to look on my computer, where before I was on my phone. With the bigger screen, my opinion is that both coins are now worse than I previously thought.
definitely #2 is the 67 but the obverse seems to have ugly toning .. I cannot even tell what date it is.....while the reverse has much prettier toning and really is awesome .

The MS 67 reverse is hammered!
The bottom coin has far superior luster, hence I concur it's the 67.
I'll guess you wouldn't have asked if it were easy to answer. So will be the counterpoint and guess the 1st got 67 by mechanical or other error. Neither coin all that appealing, and that's yer thang.

top 62, bottom 67. walkers are hard to grade (my opinion) and this is just a guess based on the photos alone.
I see alot of little ticks on #1.
The face is obliterated on #2

Thiswould be a case of my ignoring the tpgs grading opinion regardless. Imho, both coins are unattractive, and I would keep walking even if I was looking to purchase some WLH's.

I would not purchase either one... but I would sure examine the second one in an attempt to understand the (to me) ridiculous grade on the label. Cheers, RickO
I'm certainly no expert, but my guess would be they judged the toning to be super original and bumped the grade up by 2 or 3 steps to the ms67 grade.
By the way, I'm not liking the ms67 grade as I think it's an overgrade.

I 'LIKE' the second coin better.....No hairlines, fewer abrasions, better luster and likely ORIGINAL. BUT, do I like it at the MS 67 superb gem level? Not especially. To each his/her own....

1st one, not so much.
I'm not seeing MS-67 on the second coin at all, with that strike. The reverse is very nice, but that obverse? Spare me. I don't think I'd pay 64 money.

I'm a little skeptical that the top coin is truly MS....
The second coin's reverse gives it away, it appears to have the strike and luster to be a higher graded coin. The first coin's obverse looks like it has a lot of wear but not discernable with the photos, but definitely a lower grade than the second coin.

Agreed. Especially when '47-D's are readily available with good strikes and luster. A far more attractive piece-imo-can be had for a C-note.
