Another old holder... 1871 Proof 2C this time.

Not really my style but hey, when in Rome. And no, I did not pay 65RD money for it.

    That's a really pretty coin, but that top set of images would not be something I would classify as RD. Regardless, it looks great.

    That's a beautiful coin😊 correct me if I'm wrong...I do not know anything about this series, But there appears to be doubling on the right of the arrows and the motto
    Good spread on trust.. WE and light spread on GOD and the bottom right of the flights on the arrow😊

    I agree it is RB by modern standards. Hence my comment that I didn't pay RD money.

    I am not sure but on coinfacts, many have this same doubling.

    I checked some examples without a variety attributed.
    There were alot without the doubling shown on your coin.. I think you might have something 😊 I could be wrong.. but just in case I thought I'd let you know

    Agree with all aspects of this.....is there a chance it acquired a little toning in that holder?
    Estimating it's been in there ~25 years. I realize the holder is supposed to be inert, but perhaps
    the environment where stored, or something on the surface, caused changes over time.

    The coin looks RB by past standards, too. It probably just mellowed after it was graded and slabbed.

    It almost certainly acquired it's color in this holder. How is anybody's guess.

    A very nice Two Cent coin... an underappreciated series IMO.... I agree it is RB in color. Cheers, RickO
