I've only been collecting for a little over three years now. Since then I've always wanted to purchase a CC morgan but never bought one because I was unsure of how to tell the difference between a real and fake. I purchased this gal last week sometime and she just got here today. Raw, I feel paid a fair price 😊 she looks good too🤙edit to add: it's a vam 4

Nice, now only twelve more to go. Or twenty-nine to go if including the varieties. You do know they are addictive, correct?

    Yes😂

Well, I'm glad you know about VAM classifications. Was this offered at a grade that you agree with? Looks nice to me. Peace Roy

    Buyer wanted$ 260.
    I offered$ 220
    We settled on$ 223 .
I'm still learning when it comes to grading raw Morgan's myself but the Fields for the most part seem to have good luster,
Not a crazy amount of chatter in the fields ok the obv or rev. With the main points being knocked from the chatter and bag mark ok her cheek I would guess ms63 -64. maybe even on a good day ms 65. Correct me if I'm wrong or not even in the right ballpark as I am still learning 😊

Looks like a nice enough 63 from here but you know how grading from pictures goes -- every hit looks gigantic, etc. I think my biggest concerns are the hit from the mouth to the underside of her chin, and the scrapes above her ear. Seems like she has nice clean fields though.

I agree with the chatter from her mouth to the chin, nice Fields 😊 she looks better in hand IMO

Looks very nice but why buy a raw one when there are dozens of graded ones available for roughly the same price.

Some coins I prefer raw, some I like in plastic. I like my morgans in airtight capsules 😊 and I'm trying to get better at grading raw Morgan's. All of the morgans I own are raw with the exception of 1.

According to this seller of the same coin you have, your cost was great! Sure, his coin is in a PCGS holder with that Ms 64. The Vam 4 isn't listed on the slab but he's selling as that. Just to maybe give you an idea what you might ponder about your beauty? Very pretty coin, dude. Congrats.
    He's asking $329

    Nice VAM

Nice. My first CC Morgan was a single inadvertent purchase. Upon close examination I scored a 1900-O/CC VAM.

Have fun. It's a gateway drug. Next, you'll start to try filling in the remaining CC Morgans. Once that is complete, you'll move on to the Seated Liberties, at least the 70 CC. Then, you'll want a Trade dollar example and soon you'll be sucked in to that series and be a full blown addict. Assimilation will be complete. Resistance is futile.

Coincidentally, Here's a 1882-CC VAM-3 or 3A that I'm studying right now. What fun! Peace Roy

Very nice CC Morgan.... That series was an addiction for me, for a while. Until I completed it, around 2007 I think. Good luck, Cheers, RickO
