Looking or help with this odd size Mercury Dime

Has anyone ever seen something like this? Can anyone offer an explanation as to why the one Merc is so much larger than a normal dime??

    That’s weird. I vaguely remember reading about someone who wrapped a coin in leather and hitting it with a mallet and making it larger without flattening the details off of the coin, so maybe something like that happened?

    They call 'em 'Texas Dimes' or whatever the denom is.

    Put between a piece of leather, and squeezed.
