As previously stated, I'm not a modern coin guy, but...........

I got this coin in change yesterday and could not believe the steps. I have several FS Jefferson Nickels, but this coin's steps are unbelievable, at least to me. Sorry for the pics, but using a cell phone for a week or so only.

Yes, the Mint really enhanced the Monticello detail. I don't keep up with the years of official die changes but it's way beyond what was going on even 20 years ago.

The lack of obverse relief helps, but at such cost.

I've noticed this as well. For some reason, and under the assumption of die refinement, most of the 2020 I've encountered do appear more crisp, for a lack of better words.

That is the norm for the 2020-D nickels I have seen.
    I have not seen a P though.
Usually the P coins are not as nice (at least the last 20 years or so.)

Just checked pocket change, and the new nickels do indeed have detailed steps. The FS criteria/designation may go away in regards to the new nickels.... Cheers, RickO

How many steps is "Full Steps" now? :o

That has more steeps than the real thing!
