Weight is 5.2 grams.
Front of coin you can barely see face
On back you can see date but looks like something else was pressed on it. Its much smaller then reg quarter. But i can't see 4 years do that damage on coin. And the reeded in side of coins all there so if it was done on purpose the rigged edge would also be effected. I can't see someone do this damage to a coin and put back into circulation. What you think. Ty

I have no idea what I am looking at from those pics. A Kisatchee quarter is about all I can see.
Don't assume someone couldn't or wouldn't do that damage to a coin. Instead, prove that it is an error based on knowledge of the minting process.
Ok- I'll guess. The coin was dropped in the street, run over repeatedly and finally found its way to the curb, where it was discovered by a passerby who used it to buy a Coke from a vending machine.
No, I'm not trying to be funny. The coin looks to me like it's been run over in the street.
Damaged junk. Nothing more.
Acid? Caustic materials? Lost on the beach for a while? Lots of potential causes. The color also suggests environmental damage.
The coin appears to be in a capsule. We aren't even seeing the actual surfaces.
How can we tell you anything from out of focus blurry photos??

CoinStar reject bin find?
@Vincentbulgarino .... Welcome aboard..... That coin is totally PMD.... likely not intentional. Probably lost in a mall parking lot and repeatedly run over. Another possibility is acid etched. Either way, it is Post Mint Damage and no numismatic premium. Cheers, RickO
Interesting.
Flagged.
Show pics of coin in PCGS holder with their assessment. Need your proof!
I am getting weary of these worthless troll posts of absolute trash. I guess the monitors are unable or unwilling to stop it.
They are certainly able to stop it if they know about it, so don't be shy about flagging problem posts.
I do not think PCGS gave you any statement as to the nature of your coin. The conversation posted is about what it will cost to have them evaluate it. What people will want to see is what the final result is when you get it. That is the proof you can use to gloat, crow, and strut about.

All that shows is that your sending it into PCGS to be reviewed as a mint error. It doesn’t say anything about it being a mint error. Keep waiting.

I'm sorry, but nothing in that email said you had an error. As @TurtleCat said, they are only confirming the services and values you requested. They are in business to evaluate whatever you want, with no opinion until you pay. I guess you're going to learn an expensive lesson.
BTW, how did you determine the declared value of your coin?
I suspect somebody is in for an unpleasant surprise when this coin is returned to them.
To paraphrase Twain... better to think my coin is a valuable mint error than to send it in and have PCGS remove all doubt.

Vincent. It seems Failure will be your best teacher. It won’t be too expensive if you learn from it.

End Systemic Elitism - It Takes All Of Us
Based on the messages from PCGS you posted above, they have not evaluated your coins yet. They are asking you to confirm what service(s) you want to pay for. Once they have an answer from you, the coins will be examined and an opinion rendered.
Don't be upset when PCGS tells you that they are not errors or varieties after you spent $200. You ask what people here think and then you don't like it when no one agrees with you. There are many very knowledgeable people here on this forum and they know what they are doing and talking about. Make sure you come back here and post the results of your submission to this thread.
This is the best thread yet! 🍿
BHNC #248 … 108 and counting.
Let us know your research on that.
I'm curious also.
And on a lighter note.....Learn your camera and stop mooning us.
K...Cool!

"YOU HAVE MY WORD"
I hope you hold to your word and show the holders on both of your quarters.
Please let us know what PCGS says when they actually look at them.
I'd declare a higher value for them.
That way the cost will be higher and the lesson you learn will be that much more valuable.
It doesn't work that way. Their error specialist is a member of this forum. They don't just hand the errors to the grader in house. And graders will not render verdicts over the phone anyway.
Not to mention, if you sent them the same photo that you showed us, they would be unable to determine anything definitive.
Notice the semi coherent response here compared to other posts. We’re being trolled.
