Here are the seller's slab photos for comparison.

It looks like a gorgeous coin with lots of colors. I would love to see it in hand.

I immediately thought it could fit in a top collection and looked up both J&L and Subway.

    For comparison, this is a MS67 POP 116/41 while Subway has a MS67+ POP 37/4 CAC and J&L has a MS68 POP 4/0.

I wonder if this has any upgrade potential, which could be challenging as it is in a Gen 6.0 NFC slab.

Agree. That is one beautiful commemorative. The forum member who bought that Gettysburg from CRO last year should definitely go for this one. Who was that? @BryceM @braddick ?

Interestingly I don’t find it particularly eye appealing (and I’m not anti-toning whatsoever). I think the toning is splotchy and the red tones are not especially vibrant.

I’m sure it might speak differently if I was seeing it in hand.

I think it’ll need a lot of light at the right angle to get those colors out .... obviously still cool though, and beats the pants off a white one.

Still one of the most impressive classic commem designs.

I don't like Commems but that one could sure change my mind!! o:)

The designs back then are just so much cooler than the computer generated stuff they put out today.

    AT?

    NT?

Either way it has positive eye appeal; plus it has been straight graded. Thus it passes muster and is accordingly market acceptable.

Until the market changes and collectively says otherwise.

    Happy New Year to all.

    Too dark for me.

That color doesn’t look the least suspicious to me. What caused you to bring up that possibility?

    Nothing.

Just stirring the pot to elicit conversation.

I actually like the coin and would love to see it in hand. I have minimal ability to determine AT v NT except in extreme cases where a coin screams AT.

Mr. Feld if the pictured coin was raw would you have any hesitation to label the coin NT? If so, what would concern you?

No, I wouldn’t have any such hesitation. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have posted “That color doesn’t look the least suspicious to me.”

Interesting comment. I was admiring the Texas posted by the OP and thought it had a bit of a similar look to the one I already have. My photos:

    TrueView (interesting that it's reversed):

Mine has a couple areas that aren't so far from terminal toning, but I'm ignoring them. :) The area around "AMERICA" around the eagle's left wing (viewer's right) and the center of the reverse are a touch on the dark side. They're both graded MS67. Mine is in a newish blue holder with a green CAC sticker.
