I bought within the first 10 minutes of them going on sale. They are still in Memphis as far as tracking goes.

Ordered mine quickly, no hangups. Funny that I am old enough to remember when these Mint Sets would sell 2 or 3 million sets per year routinely.

It wasn't that long ago. As late as 1989 they were selling 2 million per year. Even into this century they were selling over 1 million per year. 2005 was the last year over 1 million at 1.16 million. They've dropped off a cliff lately with some years not even getting to 300,000. They might have only sold 213,000 even if the Mint hadn't cut off production early.

This will be the lowest mintage since 1959

    Mintage chart below

Yes, but I'm not sure what that proves. Mint and Proof sets have been continuously dropping for a decade. The secondary market has been moribund for years - including 1959 sets. 1959 Mint sets have a greysheet price of $40 but you won't get near that from any dealer. It's hard to find any market make who will pay more than 75% of greysheet these days.

How true....however, current price and sold prices for the 2020 sets on ebay tell a different story. As of today, average sold price is 30%+ above Mint issue price, and this is even before "No longer available" from the Mint.

That doesn't surprise me. Also pretty typical. Sell 'em while you can.

That should....US Mint sets normally do not carry much if any premium over Mint issued price on ebay.

It does when they are unavailable from the Mint. You currently have a distribution problem due to flippers and retailers buying them out. Once the handful of actual collectors get theirs, the price will drift back down. IMHO

Ordered 11-30. Still processing. Some people working full time, doing half as much while taking twice as long

Mine apparently "shipped" on Dec 4 but the post office hasn't received it yet.

Do the mints sell these throughout the years or one time only that year.

Specific release date. Then when they're gone, they're gone

Florida, go to the U.S. Mint website. Look for product schedule. It will list specific products and there release date.

You can't blame the gov't bureaucracy for this one....Orders & shipments are handled by a private contractor.

the 2019 sets were on sale from May last year up to the release date of the 2020 set.

they either sell them all or remove them from sale. I checked the sales of the 2020 sets and they sold most of them up to last week. They didn't take the 2020 sets off sale.

There is hope for order cancellations but they release those for sale early in the morning at or after 7:30.

I can't give you advice whether to buy on ebay or wait for lower prices a couple of years from now.

I'm getting one just to keep with continuity. Surprising how late these are coming out this year

    Amazing how late! Why?

I'm guessing that they were delaying to try to pair with the uncirculated 2020 W Nickel, but that got sidetracked by COVID.

That's a more reasonable thought and addresses the delay. Only ordered a couple unc and proof sets for one customer. Will likely lose that one customer.... waiting. C'est la vie.

I have to say the D mint coins in my set looked a lot nicer than the P mint this year.
