Renaissance Faire Tokens & Medals - by Ron Landis

Greetings folks,

I haven't seen a similar thread, so I thought I would start one.

I have recently become enamored with a few Renaissance Fair tokens and medals I have run across, especially the work of Ron Landis. I thought a thread dedicated to his work and designs would be nice. I for one, would appreciate seeing other strikes and designs as well

Here are a couple photos of my first Ron Landis Renaissance Fair medals. I have seen many "similar" designs attributed to Ron, but many of them are largely unsigned. So, other than with the presence of the "RL" initials, how can one be sure it was created by him?

Secondly, how does one go about determining the year of creation? Is this knowable, or am I tilting at windmills here . . . . . ?

    I love the Renaissance Faire fantasy pieces. Great original art.

    As always, I dislike reproductions of Legal Tender coin designs. Too great a chance of somebody getting screwed down the road.

    I understand the concern, but in my 10+ years here, I've never seen that happen with the ones popular and being collected here. Given the collector interest in these, I think it's more likely that they continue to be valued collectors items like Bolen, New Haven and other pieces.
