Could be. I was at a show some years back and a fellow had one of those that he had found metal detecting near Williamsburg.
Looks kind of clean to me to be a detector find.

It’s funny with silver. Ive seen people dig up cut up reales that look fresh and silvery after 200+ years. Really depends on the soil it was in.
Looks like a possible dug coin to me. I have seen several early half dimes, including 1795 and the much scarcer 1805, dug up by detectorists over the years. Then there's this one...
