Hi guy's, found this in the wild. PMD or not? Quite clear of any burrs if grinded? Also, the deep rim? Makes me think it's not PMD? Any opinions? Thanks guy's. Oh, one thing, I did not weigh it.:)

PMD, huh? Two things. There are still appearances of lines in the reeds and if I weigh it, if it is grinded, shouldn't it weigh less?

Yep, you're right! The coin only weighs 2.1.
Instead of the normal 2.5. Thanks Errors on coins.

It could only be PMD looking like that. The rim was not necessarily ground, but flattened and raised by tapping or repeated mechanical tumbling.

Attempt to make a coin ring. Can’t figure out why with such a small coin. I’ve even seen ones with similar damage to a half dime!

Yes... that coin has been 'spooned'.... Process often used to make a ring... though normally it was silver coins that people worked on. Cheers, RickO
