I am looking to complete 2013 ASE in different finishes. Which one is a wiser choice to buy?
1) Box is worn at $170

There's no really good answer to this.
If you want the coins raw for an album or something, save $25. If you want the coins slabbed and don't mind the 69 grade, then pay the $25 and you'll have them already slabbed. If you are asking about possible future price appreciation, buy the raw: it's cheaper and someone might think the coins could be 70s.
In general, I would prefer to pay less for a modern 69 than a raw coin.
All comments reflect the opinion of the author, even when irrefutably accurate.
It really is your choice....If grades are not an issue, the already slabbed coins might be the way to go.... The raw coins may be even a lower grade if submitted.... what is your intent for them? Cheers, RickO
I intend to just keep these coins, as collector items. But, who knows, I might sell them down the road. Grades not an issue for me.
The raw coins didn't have a picture reverse side of the coin. Hope there is nothing wrong with it. Seller has good rating. As far as the box, I guess I can always buy one off of ebay for about $13.
What is a good price for this set? I see a lot in Ebay for about$200.
Oh, I found another Ebay seller with grade 69 for about same price as the box one.
What is your preference and storage method? You may have a couple hundred similar in a few years.
In this case, I slightly prefer the raw coins in the original mint boxes. For rare coins or more valuable ones, I think stab offers peace of mind.
Storage .... I just keep them in my steel filing cabinet in whatever form I get them in. I keep them bubble wrap if that is how they came in.
