Does anyone know why a copper coin would look partially silver looking? Its not copper plated.

It has a foreign substance on it.

Its just toning/tarnish. It comes in all colors.

Could also be contact transfer when silver coins were together with it.... such as pocket change or purse. Cheers, RickO

back when I was young and Mercury was harmless we used to play with it and drop cents in it and coat them...
