Granted with all the crazy lately I never thought to check recently but when the heck did the Mint raise their sell price on the 2020 Silver PS to $105.00?

    On October 12, 2020, I bought a 2020 Silver Proof Set from the the US Mint for $63.25.
    I quit buying Silver Proof Sets after 2012. The only reason that I bought this one is because I heard of the upcoming large price increase on mint products right here on this forum.

    I believe the price increase went into effect on or about October 14, 2020, to defray costs.

    Whomever posted the information about the coming price increases, thank you very much! I did not hear about this increase anywhere else.

    Yep, last month. I’ve bought sets now and then from the mint. I got the 2018 and 2019 limited edition sets and I wasn’t going to get the 2020 but I had always planned on it this year as the full “last” one with the old design. I’ll probably do that and that’ll be the end of my direct US Mint spending days. Everything else will be secondary market if I even buy anything modern.

    I deleted all my subscriptions to the mint! I'll wait a year after release and get them cheaper on the secondary market.

    Significant price increases across the board....I stopped with the yearly mint/proof sets back in 2009.... Will continue to be very selective on mint purchases. Cheers, RickO

    We usually only pick up enough US Mint stuff to cover expected demand from some of our regular annual buyers along with a tad extra for holiday purchasers. The mint is a de facto coin dealer that pulls a lot of collectors' money away from the classic coin market. I wish I had a buck for every time I hear something like "Well, I'd like to pick that piece up for my type set but I just got done paying the CC bill for my US Mint stuff"...

    With the rise in price it is often cheaper to buy one already graded then go raw and submit while rolling the dice on grade
