PCGS images question

ɹoʇɔǝlloɔɹoʇɔǝlloɔ Posts: 1,436 ✭✭✭✭✭

hi all

recently picked up a PCGS graded coin [my first!] off ebay - asked seller if they had high res PCGS images of the coin and they did not

is this something I can reach out to our host about? do they image all submissions / graded coins even if submitter doesn't request them?

still learning - thanks for any help

Did you look up the cert number on the PCGS cert verification page, so see if there’s a picture?

Keep in mind if PCGS doesn't have an image on the cert page, often there are links at the bottom to auction archives of the coin that will have pictures from other sources.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.

so if one doesn't pop up on cert page then PCGS doesn't have any images?

Only a small percentage of PCGS certified coins are imaged. About 5 years ago they started offering free images with Secure Certification- that's increasing the photographed coin population.

There are many members of this forum who are excellent coin photographers and can help for a reasonable price.

    I love them Barber Halves.....

Many of our resident coin photographers are superb, and their images rival or exceed the hosts pictures. Cheers, RickO
