Nice British penny..... Used them a lot when I lived in Barbados or when I was on trips to the UK... Cheers, RickO

The US has never made a penny. Ours is called a "cent".
Nice Find! I superglued a quarter to the floor in front of the coin star in the grocery store a few days ago ;-)
Let @ThePennyLady know.

I have never found a predecimal bronze in a coinstar, several tanners and bobs over the years an' e'en a florin.
Solid AU-55 to boot!
Ok. Now I know who will be getting my chiropractor's bill.
Nice. Half-way surprised it didn't actually go through and get counted as a US 50c. When I rolled searched bank boxes of halves heavily back in the day those British Pennies and Mexico 10 Pesos of 1974-1985 were the most common foreign coins I would find in the rolls. I'm guessing it was because their diameter was very similar along with perhaps their metallic signature. Coin Star must use pretty sensitive discriminators.
