Interesting "Tidbit" About Our Forums

Something I just discovered, but I'm sure many of you already know. I'll share it in case there are others like me that did not know the following:
When each of us looks at the time of day (or night) that each post is posted (bad English??), it appears on each of our screens at our own local time! For example, I'm posting this at about 5:31 pm (EASTERN time). It'll show on MY screen (and all other members in the Eastern time zone) as 5:31 pm. But if you're in the Pacific time zone, MY post will show on YOUR screen as having been posted at 2:31 pm (Pacific time).
No complaint, just interesting.
EDIT - Now it shows my posted time as 1 hour earlier (4:31 pm), probably due to the change of Daylight Savings Time, even though my post was made early in the evening of Saturday 10/31, well before the change of clocks THE NEXT DAY, about 8-1/2 hours later. Again, I’m not complaining at all, just making an observation.

Yep, pretty standard for forum software nowadays. I can tell ya, handling time zones and dates in software properly is a real pain.
If you view the HTML code you will see that the link has both the full time (including offset) and the rendered (local) time:

Wish we would either return to only standard time nationwide or daylight savings time with no switching. For all the original justifications for daylight savings, it was never realized. The only beneficiaries are businesses that benefit from later daylight hours.
Twice a year this discussion takes place... In local areas, state legislatures and federal levels... and twice a year, nothing is done. I enjoyed living in Arizona where they do not change the time. Common sense. Cheers, RickO
I woke up and set my clocks back. The rest of the household is sleeping. What I don't understand is how I go to bed two hours later than everyone , and get up 2 hours earlier. We should have nightlight savings time.

As a stickler for rules, I always set my alarm at exactly a minute before 2:00 am, so I can then adjust my clock AT THE PROPER TIME!

Another forum tidbit.....
When you get a LOL or Like and a thread is deleted by the mods your LOL or Like is not deleted.
You may show 500 likes but when you hover over the large number it may display 495 as an example.
5 of your Likes were in threads that were deleted.

With the old system I could quote the guy who posted right after me between 2 AM and 3 AM when the clocks were set back.
