Silver Medal Anyone?

OnastoneOnastone Posts: 4,071 ✭✭✭✭✭

November 5th will surely test the patience of many collectors trying to get a privy marked V75 coin as the mint's site will most likely clog and crash. But two more, a half ounce End of World War II 75th Anniversary 24-Karat Gold Coin, with another tiny mintage of 7500, and a silver version one ounce medal, with a mere 20,000 limit, will be offered just four days later on Monday November 9th.

Anybody up for a silver medal?

I am not a medal collector... but these are nice memento's, especially as a gift for those who served.... they are leaving us very quickly now.... :'( Cheers, RickO

This is one of those times where I think the metallic version is nicer than the coin version. It removes a lot of extraneous details and lets the design shine. That said, I probably won’t get one. I toyed with the idea of the gold one. Maybe I’ll change my mind by then.

A mintage of 20,000 for a medal is very high.

    All glory is fleeting.

I have liked and acquired some medals over the past few years, but the arm-talon design in the one shown above does not look good to me.

Agree the medallic version looks cleaner and nicer.

Yeah, I think that mutant claw-hand is not in perspective to the rest of the design. Who's responsible for that? Peace Roy
