Hurricane Sally...Hurricane Pictures Added

Well, we're just several feet from going under from Hurricane Sally. Still have power, so show me a Roosie, or any coin that's colorful for comfort. Water is several feet above the seawall and heading toward the house. Oh my...

Is there a reason you don’t relocate to higher ground? Looks like the rainfall could be as bad as Houston/Harvey.
I know how to swim.
By "going under" I mean the house would begin to take on some water. Not enough to leave, just be dang bothersome. We're on the eastern side of the storm so it brings in a higher amount of water from the ocean-to-bayou. It's all good.
Sorry to hear that, hope you stay safe and come out the other side ok. Not a collector of Roosie dimes but I do have this one.

Hey Jim,
Here's hoping you weather the storm without taking on any water! This 49-S is currently in the mail to me:
Thanks guy's!!!
Be careful, man this has been a rough year.
That darn storm has been dropping rain on central Florida via the outer bands for 6 days now, it’s so slow moving. More of nuisance compared to what Louisiana and the panhandle are facing though.
Our prayers are with you - hang in there!
The only colorful “dime” that I have a photo of:
Have any media reports stated who is to blame for the storm yet?
Seriously though, best wishes to you and everyone effected by the storm. Hope everyone gets through it with no or little damage.
I wish California would get some storms coming in off of the Pacific to douse the state, put out the endless fires and cleanse the air so that people can breathe again without inhaling smoke and fire particulates.
it's hard to figure out, the West Coast is so dry it's on fire and parts of the East Coast are soon to be innundated with water.
Rode out one hurricane and swore I would never try that again.
Never "liked" the house anymore after the storm and the damage.
On the Great South Bay on the Island, beautiful house....just didn't like it anymore.
Sold it and a few years later Super Storm Sandy left it under 9 feet of water.
Never again.
Be careful and all the best to you !

Later, Paul.
Thanks all for the kind comments. Here's a few images of the back yard from my deck. Well, there once was a backyard. Seawall is about 90 feet out from the deck, if it's still there. Getting wind gusts over 80 miles per hour now.
Be safe - looks like we will get a ton of rain here in NC tomorrow.

Update: Water is beginning to recede and the winds are calming down, somewhat. Lost power a few hours ago, got the generator running however. Actually, we're very blessed. House is fine, no lost trees...just a lot of down limbs.
Clean-up on aisle #1
Some areas are getting over TWO FEET of rain. Too bad that can't fall on California right now. I'm on the Tampa Bay Area and over the last week we have received a lot of rain from this storm but not TWO FEET and of course not even close to a direct hit.
