The Fall National Battlefield Coin Show™ in Gettysburg was held on Thursday, September 10 through Saturday, September 12. Thursday was dealer setup and Early Bird. Early Bird admittance was the best it has been since the show began. Face coverings were required, we took temperatures prior to entry and social distancing was practiced. Two individuals who refused to wear face coverings, and could not provide any evidence of a medical reason, were turned away.
Attendance at the show was half of normal, which was expected. For the 3 days, there were a total of 482 who attended. Those who attended, came to purchase. Dealers were happy with their sales and four dealers said it was the best show they had ever had. Sales were strong on gold, silver bullion, currency and collector coins. One large wholesale dealer who has a table said when I asked how the show was for him: "Phenomenal! That's why I enjoy coming to Gettysburg."
I continuously walk the floor and talk with the attendees and dealers. The only dealer complaint I heard was on Thursday afternoon from a currency dealer. He said he could not fill his cases because the early birds were buying before he could put the currency out. To me, that was a great complaint to have!
There was so much at the show that I had to purchase a few coins. Several of the toners are in the thread about sharing new purchases. I purchased a 1972 DDO Lincoln in ANACS MS65 Red, several slabbed foreign coins, 6 BU Peace dollars including a 34, 34 D and 35, a toned 1946 D Walker, 7 raw toned foreign coins and a small box of 23 modern proof sets (which I sold).
Mark your calendars for the April 1-3, 2021 for the next Battlefield Coin Show. Thursday, April 1st is Dealer setup and Early Bird ($25) from noon until 5pm, Friday April 2nd is open from 9am-6pm and Saturday, April 3rd is open from 9am until 3pm.
Collectors were glad to get out and go to a coin show!

Always good to hear brisk sales. Missed that one, but attended in the past. Thanks for the write up.
Great report... Thank you @MICHAELDIXON.... Not surprised that bullion was moving well...and not surprised that buying in general was brisk. Been a long coin show drought. Interesting about the mask refusals...have not seen much of that here - speaking of businesses and the shooting range where I work. I even see people jogging with masks on.... back to the coin show.... excellent measures you described, and that '72 DDO would be worth a picture. Cheers, RickO
It's a good read here. T.y. for the report
