1913 buffalo nickel pattern to be auctioned by Heritage in April of next year.

1913 type one raised ground pattern buffalo nickel to be auctioned off by Heritage starting next April.
This is Pollock-2025, and Judd-1950. Slabbed proof-66 by pcgs. Look at how much it resembles the regular adopted design.
Date is a bit different and no initial under the date. ON the obverse the rim is much thicker below the date. And the 3 in the date is a bit different in style. But overall I could see how this could be confused with a non pattern type one coin. Somewhere out
there one may be hiding in some dealers cabinet or box masquerading as a regular business strike. I think one like this sold for
almost a hundred K a few years ago

Ops! forgot the reverse! I mainly posted this so that you are aware that there are buffalo nickel patterns out

there that might be almost, but not quite, identical to the regular adopted design.

Thank you... that is interesting... but now I have to add another item to my list for searching my 'hoard' of Buffs some winter day....
Cheers, RickO
Amazing and beautiful coin!
I would love to cherry pick on of these.
Thanks for sharing it!
This one has no designer's initial and a curved top 3.

Pete -- can you post a picture of the reverse too?

Here is a pattern (I don't know the number) with a round top "3." This was hand engraved into the die.
Nice to know.
Cool
I believe the round-top 3 is the rarest of all the pattern Buffs. It's a good thing this wasn't adopted as the design-the date would have worn off instantly!
I'm tracking that pattern. The last one, in a lower grade, sold for $94,000 in April of 2016. It was a PR63 described as cleaned.
I tried to delete the post. The coin I posted does not have a curved top 3. Ron's pic is the correct image.
Silly me.
Pete
I don't have one. I don't think the place where I got the pic actually had a reverse shot.
