Maill Service (Or lack of same.)

https://www.foxnews.com/us/california-mail-dumps-prompt-usps-investigation-report

Maybe this is why your coin packages take so long to go point to point. Several recent threads decrying the slow delivery or lost status of our cards, letters, packages might be explained in this news item. Just an observation.

PS: Hope it is attached correctly.

the person who dumped this mail was a contractor for usps, not a actual usps employee, and it was all bulk mail, (Junk mail)

All packages are taking longer because a lot more people are ordering online including food and clothing than ever before. The Post Office is actually delivering more mail than at Christmas time with a reduced work force as many are out from Corona. Also many more precautions are being taken to insure limiting exposure to recipients as well as employees which takes longer. Also there are fewer airplanes available to courier mail as a result of cut backs in the airline industry. All this adds up to long delays, not because the postal employees are lazy but because they are overworked and stressed. I personally have a great carrier and leave bottles of sanitizer by the box for him to use.

Packages, for the most part, seem to be taking about a week longer... unless from Amazon...those get here in two to three days. Anything from beyond our borders is taking months....Cheers, RickO

Thanks Bob for the excellent summary. I'm good friends with a couple postal employees and these are exactly the reasons they provide as well.

Still can't complain. I got a letter from Calif in 3 days. I have been waiting a while for something from Australia.
