Two 1894 s Barber Dimes up for auction in 2020
And also two 1804 type one dollars
Yes the Eliasberg 1894s Dime is coming up for auction at Stacks along with the 1804 Eliasberg dollar
Not to forget the Dexter 1804 dollar is coming up for auction at Legends auction of the
Bruce Morelan collection
Is the term rare coin an oxymoron?

And the Simpson 1894s Barber Dime is coming to auction next week at Heritage
Sure would be nice for the hobby if these auctions would be spaced out over a couple
of years instead of months.
Rare times for rare coins.

There should be some new record prices realized for these rarities. Cheers, RickO
I'm skeptical as to how many buyers there will be for these monster coins. I hope there is solid competition across the board. Really becoming historic with an intergenerational passing of so many treasures to the new generation.
The new generation is going to bid world coinage to new heights. Not nearly as sure about 94-s dimes.
There is a lot of available money out there. Wealth is highly concentrated. The question is: Are there very wealthy individuals (note plural) who care enough about coins to bid up trophy-style rarities to new highs?
For America's wealthiest individuals even records prices for these coins would be little more than pocket change ... but ... are they interested?
Hope the Robinhood types start seriously buying world ! 😄
I give away money. I collect money.
I don’t love money . I do love the Lord God.
$1,500,000 all in.
The price level indicates they almost never are for any coin, US or otherwise. The level of interest by current very wealthy collectors is also unclear.
Larry Miller's estate purportedly has a $25MM collection. Don't have insight into his cashflow but it's evident his net worth could or should have enabled him to buy any coin, if he wanted it.
Decades ago, ultra rich like JP Morgan and a member of the DuPont family (who I recall did own an 1804 dollar) collected elite US coinage. They didn't spend much of their net worth either.
I hope I win the lottery before they go to auction!
