I guess I'm the boy who cried "Help, Mint Researchers!"

I've been transcribing some Mint records and in a letter from Snowden to Senator Robert MT Hunter dated 2-9-1856, there is a fold in the middle of page 6 that obliterates a crucial segment of a sentence. I'm hoping someone out there may have a more legible copy. Thanks in advance. Rick

Reach out to RWB on the NGC Forums, if you have not already. He recently assisted with the transcription of another document...there's a thread over there about it.

The sentence in question reads, "The adaptation of the new metal aluminum to this object is also under consideration and the [illegible line] relative to it."

Sorry, I got nothing. Best try Roger Burdette.
Do you have an image of the back side of the document? Sometimes the file clerk's short recap of the subject of the document (for his possible use later in finding a particular letter that the boss man wants) is illuminating.
Good luck. The back side may also have bleed-through of the ink that helps. This might require seeing the document in hand to decipher.

Unfortunately, that wasn't located with the document. Thanks.

Wow... good luck with that document.... the line looks virtually obliterated. Cheers, RickO
Thanks. I've got bits and pieces adding up to about 2 single spaced pages so far. The letter is 7 pages.
