  The sentence in question reads, "The adaptation of the new metal aluminum to this object is also under consideration and the [​illegible line​] relative to it."

  Do you have an image of the back side of the document? Sometimes the file clerk's short recap of the subject of the document (for his possible use later in finding a particular letter that the boss man wants) is illuminating.

  Good luck. The back side may also have bleed-through of the ink that helps. This might require seeing the document in hand to decipher.

  Thanks. I've got bits and pieces adding up to about 2 single spaced pages so far. The letter is 7 pages.
