What a treat to see some actual Lesher Dollar dies.
Especially the coveted "Will Give Merchandise or Cash AT ANY BANK" variety, my favorite of the whole series.
The token is almost as rare as the die. (I know of only 1)

It's definitely a treat. It would be on my list for a visit to the ANS!
"At Any Bank" is great. I also love the "1 oz Silver Coin"
Do you ever miss your Leshers? Which 3 did you have?

I had two of the more "common" ones, Bumstead Type 2 and Boyd Park, along with a scarce Slusher from Cripple Creek now in a forum member's collection.
Lesher dollars are awesome, and I do miss them. But they are so incredibly hard to locate , and it is hard to keep interest in building a set in which opportunity comes so infrequently. That being said, I do plan on picking up a high grade one for my Token type set Box of 20 someday. Such an iconic, beautiful design!

So today...I completed my orientation and am now a State employee rather than a contractor!
I have the rest of the day off and figured I'd stop by the library...
Usually they have nothing but a handful of slightly older coin guides like Red Books but this time there was this gem to help me celebrate my own milestone today
I've never seen it, been in Colorado for about 30 years and I'm always watching for unusual coin books.
128 pages...I'll finish it in a sitting or two, nice.
Did my due diligence here on our host and found this already wonderful thread to add to!
All of a sudden I'm really liking these octagonal referendum souvenir medals...

****For those interested in Lesher Dollars, I and six other collectors will have a display of over 75 Lesher Dollars at the 2017 ANA Convention in Denver, Colorado.
This will likely be the largest "gathering" of Lesher Dollars ever, and the first time all known types will be shown together, including four unique Specimens!**
The display will be at Table 439, two tables down from my Table (# 435) and will be shown in four cases.**
Here is photo of a Lesher Dollar from my collection in case you are not familiar with these Medals:

Here's a composite photo of Lesher material donated by Farran Zerbe to the ANS.
The image isn't rendering in the ANS article and it may be good to fix that.

James Maurice Slusher-87 is one of my favorites. I bid on it but ran out of budget! Hopefully, I'll get another chance in the future!
This is a very cool thread. I didn't know anything about Lesher Dollars. Thanks @BillJones for posting it!
I am a newer collector (started April 2020), and I primarily focus on U.S. Half Cents and Type Coins. Early copper is my favorite.
