One of the many doubled die obverse or missing initial half dollars? The ones with just a doubled profile and no additional doubling are likely from a doubled working hub and worth no premium.

    Half dollar for sure.

Check variety vista--http://varietyvista.com/12 Kennedy Halves/DDO Detail Pages/1966PDDO019.htm--to determine the specific die (there is 37 different dies.) Die 13 is very strong but also somewhat common whereas Die 19 is even a little stronger but much scarcer. Most of these doubled working dies were also used to strike ordinary business strikes with the attendant doubling to be found on those.

If we don’t call that the “Steve Martin” variety, it’s a shame.

The half looks like you have a winner, the "Shifter looks like a "Corvair" model.

After reading this thread last night I looked at my SMS's and low and behold, I too have one. They don't seem to be valuable enough to have encapsulated and attributed though. Still cool. Thanks for the heads up.

My Dealer friend said the same thing you said. But when looking on the Bay, they sell! For decent cash as well. ;)
