Just a YN that is eager to learn a be a part of the forum. Please be patient.
Between the spammers, nonsensical titles, and Soviet era functionality of the forum, its getting progressively more difficult to find the interesting/informational threads.
In one of the post someone pointed out to him that it's not cool to do that. Hopefully he understands and will comply. He's a YN. Let's give him a chance to correct it. He's just enthusiastic. Actually it's good to see that.
Maybe it's National Troll Day............ in Moscow.
So far I like his threads (or skip the ones I have little to no interest in).
That could change at the drop of a dime though.
I take new members here at face value until they prove me wrong.
Probably not a bad way to handle life in general.

With all the complaints about the lack of YN's, perhaps a little tolerance is in order when they show up....Enthusiasm can be quickly killed by criticism. Cheers, RickO

One thing YN's have to know is that there are some that will be patient and love them and others in the hobby that can't stand them. You can lose your enthusiasm pretty quickly in this hobby and this hobby will only have staying power for kids and be more than just a phase if kids are still interested in coins even after seeing the bad that exists in the hobby. I started collecting when I was 10 and I had to learn that lesson going into a B&M where one dealer liked me, and the other guy at the shop saw me as a pest. Eventually that other guy became a lot nicer when I got older. He also has to learn that there's no Santa Claus in numismatics.
My intent with this thread was not to discourage a YN, but to gently call out for the need to show a little restraint so that the forum doesn’t become a forum all about one collector. I don’t think doing so for a proclaimed 12 year old to do so, is unrealistic.

I admire his enthusiasm, but, I think he should pace himself a bit.

One of his threads has been moved to the Q&A. It would seem that @HeatherBoyd is aware we have a new member. She will guide him along if needed. Think about if this was your young son or daughter and they found something they were excited to learn about. I do agree he needs to learn a little bit about forum etiquette but that is not going to be learned in the first day. For all those thinking "troll" you may want to watch his YouTube vids, if he is, he has gone to great effort just to pull the wool over our eyes or catfish us.

Over the years here I have noticed that often times the trolls portray themselves as young beginners. Then, invariably they are immediately offered freebies. People are kind hearted. The "KID ANGLE" and the "I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ANGLE" is always suspicious to me. But it works. Lot's of crooks use it. Look for patterns.
Did you look at his Facebook page, sure looked like a YN to me.

The only problem that I had with him was if he posted too many simultaneous discussions they would knock the "The Forum Needs a Little Humor" thread off the first page. Now that would have been bad!
Do you really think PCGS would remove all the posts of a YN? I'm guessing they know something we don't. Because no way a troll would steal a picture and toy with a bunch of people who enjoy helping others. Just thinking out loud.

I took a time out cause it hit me as being very strange. I’ve given coins away to a many good folks on the forum because I like to think it Spurs in the hobby on and I enjoy giving back.

As far as I know the mods are the only ones who can remove or even move posts or threads. I think the mods are aware but I could be wrong. I never called him a troll. I just pointed out something a troll might do.
Weird I saw he replied to this thread but when I open it I do not see any replies from him.

I don't think anyone here would argue with you. I hope the poster is actually this kid who wants to learn. My Spidey sense is at full alert which makes me think someone stole this kids photo and is claiming to be him. Why somone would ever do this is beyond me and I hope I am wrong!

FWIW - the photo on his icon does not match the screen grab someone posted - does not to seem to be the same person (maybe the icon isn't supposed to be him, of course).
His threads are not visible but I can get to one through a post of mine on one of them. Seems to be a shadow banning like we have seen before with a member or two.
