Yeah, I went to the flea market dealer this past weekend and caught him off guard, had silver sets and stuff priced at 14-15x face, bought it all and ran it to the refinery last night.
I agree with the flushing out as I appreciate finding things that I normally would not see in Silver that will end up staying with me for a very long time.
Thank you to those on the BST that are feeding my habit!
Thanks for the light bulb. I've got a box of Proof Sets I'm buried in because I forgot about them when I bought them in a big collection! They sat for over a year...in that time the prices tanked. Maybe, just Maybe the silver sets will make me somewhat whole...other than the 99!

Gold down $37 this morning. Silver down a buck. What gives?

I was buying it up like a madman when it was low and when it dropped to 12 bucks. Now I’m happy as a clam that I did. I’m about doubling my money at this point. But! At the same time not happy about the decline of the dollar.

It’ll more than likely exceed 35 an ounce in no time at all. The economy is in the toilet and it’s an election year. I’m not even worried about it. Look at what it’s done recently. Nothing has changed to make it drop. What’s happening is people are selling of large volumes and others are sucking it up.
It will continue to go up until it has GOOD reason to go down. So far NO good reason for it to drop.

Yes to be expected. As mentioned earlier the velocity of the fall always seems greater then the rise. Maybe it will simmer for awhile and regain its footing. When PM’s poop the bed it always reminds me of the French Card Racing game Mille Bornes. There was a “flat tire” card that you did not want to get. Creve! We used to run around as kids and shout “La Creve!” at any miscue in everyday life . Making at out at baseball, falling off your skate board, skinning your knee.
On days like this I still shout “ La Creve!” which isn’t proper but still works

No good reason for it to go up last week. What was different last week than the previous month?
It's funny how people always think that drops in price are artificial or manipulated but no one ever suggests that price rises are similarly manipulated.
Yikes. Didn’t expect this big of a drop in ONE day. Was hoping for a pullback because it can’t just keep going up every day. It can’t seem to find a bottom now though lol

I'm guessing they're not selling much. Maybe they're waiting for the dead cat bounce.

I've noticed more of those "we buy gold" ads on TV lately, so that's a sign that it will drop for sure!
Seriously though, did anyone here truly sell their gold or silver when it hit that high last week? Or is just more pondering like "ah yes, this was expected, need to buy more".
I believe we are entering a new age of gold prices. The hundreds once gave way to the thousands. Now, the thousands is giving way to the two thousands. I think $2200 will be where it eventually settles, and we may never see $1999 or below ever again.

Actually yes. I had a modern gold commem listed on eBay somewhat above market waiting for spot to catch up. It finally did. Also sold a set of 1930s Sterling silver flatware last week that had been listed for a couple months.
Granted, I didn't liquidate everything, but I'm not sure precious metals are done going up, either.
With the national debt approaching 30 TRILLION I think gold and silver will hold and increase especially if congress passes another debt...I mean stimulus bill.

it's really nice seeing the shorts getting burned lately during trading hours, they kept the prices of silver and gold down successfully for years

When melt for a sovereign goes below $400, I will be concerned. I suspect that this is just some profit taking.

I hope it goes up and all the cleaned, AT, scratched, or otherwise damaged coins find their way to the smelter.

I also didn't raise my prices last week when it was going up
Needed healthy consolidation - much expected
Gold $1944.87 up $12.84
Silver $26.02 up $0.52
Right now.
Is you talking about grammar or the pause in upward trajectory?

Don't see a typo ... but found a grammar error.
