I remember when I was growing up in the 70’s and you could buy a Saint for $40.

I bought my first Saint in 1965 for $47. I never saw any Saints in the 1970's for less than $50.

There was a time that gold was worth face value. Hard to imagine.
There will eventually be a time $2000/hr will be minimum wage. At the rate we’re going, maybe late 2025.

Late 60’s early 70’s had a friend whose father was a coin collector and I remember him buying Saints for $40 at the coin section inside the A&S at the mall.

I picked up a bunch of choice BU - solid date silver dollar rolls about 13 yrs ago from someone who put them away in the 1970's. $3.00-$3.75 or so per coin. And even as recent as 2003 you could buy silver 90% BU rolls for just over $4/oz.
Buy gold now then 20 or 30 years later it looks just like that.
And if you go to the wrong gold and silver buyers you will be shocked at some of the lowball offers. I was talking to a dealer who was upset over a dealer paying only a few bucks for Morgans even in this market and there are few legal remedies to warn others or make unscrupulous buyers accountable.
Ah yes... The 'good old days'....Some of us stacked some gold and silver at those prices... honestly not imagining, at that time, the prices we see today... Certainly keeps me smiling....

I recall purchasing the estate from a long retired part time dealer about 18 years ago. I marveled at the $1.85 price written on the 2x2 holder of a gem somewhat better date Morgan dollar. He said yep that used to be the going rate for nice uncs. All the others were face value.
