"Numismatist" is too hard to remember for the new crop of peoples.
I propose............. ta daaa ..... Monetary Artifact Researcher 
Yep. MAR
Way more impressive to the ladies at the home.
"Monetary" conveys .... MONEY.... wealth.... power...,. goodness.
"Artifact" .....well, self explanatory. Makes you on a par with Indiana Jones.. (No relation to Bill) 
I won't explain "Researcher" as everyone knows that.
Think of the benefit of adding "MAR" to a resume.

just makes HR people think you're some kind of introverted geek.

I think I’ll stick to being a “coin collector.”
I don’t have to tell people I collect coins for them to know I’m a nerd, so nomenclature isn’t really my issue.
I've found that the MARs who stop wearing plaid pants are the ones who do best.
I don't know what if plaid makes a comeback, what's old is new.

Numismatist is a term that works. If it ain't broke, don't (try to) fix it.

Last night on Jeopardy they did a rerun of a celebrity Jeopardy from years ago. The contestants were Regis Philbin, Carol Burnett and some other lady. The question was what a coin collector was called but they used bigger words along with research. Not one of the 3 contestants rang in with numismatist. I thought it was funny. Most no coin collectors wouldn't.
Go clean your guns.

I like numismatist, I learned it when I was about 7 years old and attended the BayState Coin Show at the Statler Hotel in Boston, circa mid 1960's.

In turn, that word came from the Latin word for “coin.” The meaning of the word gets even more interesting when the Latin word gets traced back to the original Greek that it was borrowed from. After some iterations, the word came from the Greek nemō, or "I dispense or divide."

Exactly why I chose it. Easy to remember. I dislike the decades old version of MSRP. It's like a 4 letter word to most of us. But this new one seems better. And it could apply to used car dealerships as well....LOL.
MSRP might get confused with the gun nomenclature, Milsurp.
I'll find out! It's a little longer of a walk now, since she lives north of Colorado Blvd., but last year, she was just around the corner from it on Catalina.

I prefer (and have used) MMA - Monetary Metals Analyst....Or sometimes a 'Hoplologist', depending on the occasion and the audience....Cheers, RickO
