Will the 2020 ASE become a KEY DATE?

I was wondering with everything going on in the world and being the last year for the current design, do you think the 2020 ASE could continue to carry a premium?

Could be!
People might want you to sanitize them before they'll accept them.
Who knows? We all shall "SEE"! 2020, get it?
By your thread, here comes the "hoarders".
"Jesus died for you and for me, Thank you,Jesus"!!!
--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.I think it will be a memorable date but not a key date. However coinage this year and next year may be semi-key as production will be a lot lower (likely) due to the recession that inevitably will begin.
I do not think it will be a key date....Nothing special about the coin.... perhaps the mintage (released) could be low due to financial issues in the public domain. Other than that, I see no reason it could become a key. Cheers, RickO
Have you seen a mintage as of now, I can’t find any info?

Jan: 3,846,000
Feb: 650,000
Mar: 3,182,500
Tot: 7,678,500
First 3 months mintage has already surpassed every years mintage from 1986-1999 with the exception of 1987. I'd say key date is a big negative.
Thanks for the info!
Looks like they are commanding a premium as of now?
Still a lot of year left.
Wish I would of bought more when I started this thread.
13,220,000 as of Friday.
Who knows?
13,000,000+
And some were the "emergency" Silver Eagles....
No.
Premiums have been going Down since March ...
I find it hard to say American Silver Eagle and "key date" in the same sentence without laughing.
$30-35 raw for 2020's and $27 and up on other dates. Premiums are up.
Keep Pumping. Maybe you’ll find someone to believe you...LOL
I’ll just check completed sales every now then. Have a good day
No I don't see it
No.
Doubt it.
On June 21, I bought a few 2020 Silver Eagles from Provident Metals for $22.73 each. Although it appears there is a shortage of silver rounds, bars, etc, the 2020 Silver Eagle is the coin that most big dealers seem to have in stock. In my opinion, no key date here.
The United States Mint sold 623,500 oz. of 2020 American Silver Eagles to Authorized Purchasers for $22.555 on July 21, 2020
The United States Mint sold 448,500 oz. of 2020 American Silver Eagles listed Today...
That's 13,668,500 for the year and currently the Mint is outpacing Y/Y for CY2018 and CY2019...
Can you post a link for that info please, I’d like to follow it?

Thank you
Your Welcome...
The 2020 W proof ASE “v75” will be a semi key date with 75k mintage. The millions of regular ASEs minted this year will not be considered a key date. I expect the v75s, ungraded will fetch about $200 each once the market settles down.
