So Whaddya Think, Should I Pull The Trigger??

Sometimes I put cool coins on my eBay watchlist as a way to bookmark them for future repeat viewing. One byproduct is that now and again I get offers to buy those coins at a discount. This one just came in and I'm really tempted, but I've already blown this month's coin budget. Any suggestions on how I can raise $200k quickly with no strings attached? :)

You had better hurry before another interested buyer beats you to it!

It's only $200k. Trim a little off next month's coin budget and do it! You weren't just watching it for fun, were you?

I usually get those "an item you're interested in..." emails for items that I looked out because I wanted to see how bad they were, not ones that I like (whether or not there's a chance of me purchasing it). Maybe try countering? If they can go down $12,500, you know they've got more room in it.

I could probably go about $50k without undue discomfort. Think they'd go for it? :)

Only one way to find out! Might want to offer to pay by check to save them the fees.

I’d let you borrow it, but you never paid me back that 500k from last month.

Even a kidney won't bring that much.

It's a stupendously cool coin though. Is it your birthday, maybe?

Now that you mention it, my birthday was about three weeks ago. So for those of you who didn't get me anything because you weren't sure exactly what I wanted, here's your chance for "redemption"! B)

I would try and contact them directly and save 'em the fees...they may pass the savings on to you.

Good suggestion, although it's not the fees portion of the asking price that's really the stumbling block here... ;)

That coin cost twice as much as I paid for my house. Hard pass!

Nice coin indeed, with all the history attached as well...However, my $200K would have move in another, more worthy direction. Coins are my hobby, not my reason for existing - and certainly not on my hierarchy of needs.... ;) Cheers, RickO

If you did “pull the trigger” your wife could use your life insurance to purchase it. But I wouldn’t pay more than $199,999.95!

That actually might work except for one obvious problem. My wife has no interest in coins!
