Only 5 Coins Known...
Hi guy's, sorry to mislead anyone by my thread title. Lol. Bet you thought my thread was about the "Only 5 Known V nickels"? Well, no. Not exactly. These only 5 Known coins are relating to my father's thoughtful act concerning his children. Told this story many times about my father and what he did for myself and my 4 other siblings. However, for the one's that aren't aware, here's a quick run through. Sadly, my father did leave us in 2012.
My father had 5 children with ma. He had this crazy notion to engrave all our names and birthdays on individual dollars for each of his kids. 5 silver dollars (Morgans and Peace). Me being the oldest, I decided to submit mine to PCGS to certify and place in a holder. Sure I did realize the coin would come back detailed. Without a grade. Still, I wanted it to be in the PCGS holder. I also asked kindly if they can title the coin with the words, "Dad's Dollar" on the holder. Explaining what I just explained to you guy's. Guess what? They DID! So, this thread is telling a continuation of the 4 other Silver Dollar's. Today, I visited my brother cross town. I totally forgot that he had in his possession 3 more of my "Dad's Dollar's". One for him and 2 more for my other brother, as well as, for my other sister (both deceased). My brother asked If I wanted the 2 coins that belonged to my siblings that passed?
I said, "Sure!" Then I got to thinking. Why not send my brother and sister's Dollar in to PCGS? To ask our host if they will once again duplicate what they done to my coin? Yes! My next submission will be TWO coins this time!
Now, concerning the last 2 Dollars. One that belongs to my brother that I visited today and 1 more Dollar that my kid sister owns. These last 2 Dollars will have to be thought out between them to decide. Hopefully, they too, will want to submit theirs as well.
There, are the " Only 5 Known" of my "Dad's Dollars."
A quick note: I say known because my father had 2 other daughter's from a previous marriage. My step-sisters, older than me. Maybe, my father could have done the same for them? Who knows? I have to get a hold of them. Never stayed connected. Maybe it's time to do so, right? Lol Thanks guy's! Here are my brother and sister's Dollars from my father;
Here is mine;

Great story!
Nice story @JoeyCoins ... and a great family heirloom. Keep the tradition going...Cheers, RickO
Nice!
Without the engraving those coins had minimal numismatic value, so nothing was lost but everything was gained by your father engraving them.
I would type out the story and keep a copy with your coin so the history is maintained. Especially if you are able to get them all slabbed, I might try to get a coin publication to do a human interest story on them.

Wow! That would be awesome! Thanks.
Also, that's a good idea for the story to be typed out, thanks again.

--- If it should happen I die and leave this world and you want to remember me. Please only remember my opening Sig Line.In my story, it's kinda ironic that the two siblings that have passed, are so connected to each other pertaining to my thread (about the Silver Dollars). My sister that passed (Gina), she passed in the same year my little brother was born, 1966. She was only 2, heart complications. That's the year my father engraved my brother's coin. The strange part is the fact they are the ones that left us other siblings. One died in '66 another was born in '66. Yeah, my brother (Jeff) died exactly 1 week after 9-11! He was only 34, alcohol. So you see it's only fitting to continue on this tribute. Not to only my father, but to my dear brother and sister! Then, 9 years after that year, '66, my parents had their last child born. Late in their life. My kid sister, Jennifer. Born in 1975, my father's last coin to be engraved! Lol Thus, the 5 Known Coins...

Kudos to PCGS
It is fascinating how coins that pass down in a family can have a lot more significance than examples you pay hundreds or thousands of dollars for.
That is a GREAT presentation with that box. Hands down, that must be your most "valuable" coin.
I would try Coin World - you can email the editor with the idea. If they are interested they would have a reporter email you back for details - sort of like an electronic interview, Photos might be an issue. For some reason your pic of the slab in the box is much better than the close-ups. But maybe you can play around with your technique and get some good pics.
Today, I pulled the trigger! Sent in the two coins to our host! Yes! 2 Coins, not just one, TWO. I broke the curse. Lol. Three down, 2 to go to complete the 5.
